Doing the Loving Kindness and the Integral Assessment are good exercise to do for your mind and body. It is a soothing and calming way to relax for your soul. For me while doing these exercise I learned that I really need to relax more. But I get stressed out between work school, kids and My nephew is so over whelming. Having done them it has helped some. I love doing these meditation exercises because I suffer from social Anxiety and doing these helps me a lot to relax and helps calm my body and my mind.
Thank you
Thank you
Heather, I'm sorry to hear that you deal with social anxiety. It is fairly common along with numerous other mental health issues. Mental health is a fascinating area that I would love to be a part of in the future and i find that learning about psychology on a deep level not only enables one to help others change behaviors and thoughts, but also for myself too! There's no doubt in my mind that meditation, visualization, diaphragmatic breathing(belly), and mental imagery are all amazing for the reversal of high cortisol levels and provide the capability of a subtle, still mental state conducive to greater awareness and elevated levels of consciousness. I do not have lots of family and friends who I get to be around regularly since I live with only my dad and I invest the majority of time with education and work duties. I do believe that all of these small habits ranging from meditation, physical training+myo-fascial release, stability ball stretching, proper breathing, social communication, outdoor time spent connecting in environment, prayer, leisurely euphoric activities, and of course sleep are transformational for our higher level of living! I struggle Heather with not having any time to get out and socialize away from work where i constantly need to perform and be on. I'm not sure what your issue is but just remember that it is reversable and maybe getting thoughts/feelings out on paper through a journal or speaking to a close friend could work for you. I can say from many years of experience that holding mental anxieties inside while trying to solve the problem on your own is not good. Those of us who are strong left brained like myself tend to do that since I'm used to taking on things myself with little support or help. I like the word "soothing." You could attempt to find activities that soothe your spirit/mind/body.
